THOUGHT - THE RIVER
Scripture Reading - John 7:37-39
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying,If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) KJV
“The river of thought” is describing the continuous flow of “thoughts” entering into your mind and coming out of your mouth. “The river of thought” acts very similar to a natural river of water. In a natural river water flows at different rates depending upon the level of water, the height of elevation (slope of the ground) and the width of the channel. The mouth of river typically completes its cycle to transport its nutrients to a larger body of water. This is similar to how a person speaks when it comes to his or her own rate of words. Every person was created to flow with conversation through the medium of voice. The whole purpose of speaking is to transfer your “thoughts” to another individual or thing. Those who use their voice more frequently can speak for hours whereas those who seldom speak can not. This is not an accident but the development of internal channeling transforming thoughts into words via (by way of) practice. If exercised enough a person can channel a thought to a word faster than the speed of light. This is because when we tap into the spiritual realm of God there is no time delay. Usually physical impediments hinder the transformation of “thought” to voice for natural men upon the earth. Society would rather filter every word you speak through its mental understanding to see if it meets proper etiquette. We have been conditioned (taught) not to speak every “thought” that comes to our mind. This is practical and safe because the majority of people on the earth do not think godly “thoughts” on a continuous basis. Therefore it is a good ideal to think before you speak but that mindset will decrease your rate of thought transformation. Generally speaking the added delay is probably a good ideal if you are speaking to others because it is better to be slow to speak good words then quick to speak ungodliness. The flesh (human nature) desires to speak whatever “thought” comes to mind, but channeling the water of your words into the right direction is worth the small time delay in response. It is said, “the wise man only releases enough water to fill the cup of the receiver and if the person is full of their own ideals the wise keeps his mouth shut, thus keeping his reservoir full”. The larger the cup of the receiver the greater amount of “liquid thoughts” (spoken words) they can receive. Remember, the rate of flow is the actual measurement of words articulated by your voice. If the voice is loving and clear it will be pleasant to the receiver, but if you speak sharply and perversely your words will poison the listener. God gifts all good speakers because He personally anoints men and women to proclaim good things. Although the speaker (or minister) has a part to play in speaking forth what they are inspired to say the Lord should receive the glory because it is by God’s Grace that the transformation happens smoothly. So when thinking about allowing your personal river to flow you must be willing to speak boldly without fear. We (ihlcc) have found it better to keep “the river” clean by choosing the right words then to speak forth evil polluting the souls upon the land. Amen.
